A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To the Future.

I love Michael J. Fox but that's not any big secret!

This is the second of his three books that I have read and I loved it just as much as the first one Lucky Man, you can read all about it here.

Unlike, his first two books A Funny Thing.... is written as an "advice" book for graduates. Fox offers a comically skewed take on how, in his own way, he fulfilled the requirements of a college syllabus. He learned Economics as a starving artist; an unexpected turn as a neophyte activist schooled him in Political Science; and his approach to Comparative Literature involved stacking books up against their movie versions.

Just goes to prove that no matter how many college credit you have, you really haven't learned a thing till you get to the "real" world and all it's challenges!

I would recommend this book to anyone that is just starting out or just needing a little encouragement and knowledge that no one's life is perfect.

It's an easy and fast read, a short 100 pages. Anyone, could knock this book out in just a few hours.

5 stars!

Back and Ready to Read!

Did you miss me?

I missed reading and blogging.

I obviously didn't reach my goal for 2010 but I will not give up. After a long hiatus from reading and blogging, I"m back! I've already read one book for 2011 and I'm almost done with a second!

Things are looking up!

The first book of 2011 was Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. He is most notably known for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

This book takes the fictional world of vampires and mixes it with historical figures, places and events. What an interesting and awesome idea!

This book was phenomenal! I love it from the very start. It reads as if it actually happened; as if the reason for the Civil War was actually because of a vampire uprising!

Just a word of warning though, this novel is somewhat graphic when it comes to the actual slaying of vampires and isn't for the faint of heart or stomach!

I would recommend this book for anyone that like historical fiction, vampire fiction or science fiction novels.

It's a easy and fast read, I couldn't put it down. After not having read a book in almost 5 months, I read this one in 4 days!

5 Stars!
